Our Mission Statement
|
|
|
To enhance the capacity of regional economic development and housing through
joint marketing and resource utilization of
participating communities of
Boyd,
Owen, Withee, Stanley and Thorp. Cadott and Curtiss later joined the
Partnership.
WHAT is Highway 29 Community Partnership:
We are a group of community citizens that look at business, housing and
community development opportunities in our region.
Local involvement plus USDA Rural Development, WHEDA and XCEL Energy all
partners in local growth.
PURPOSE of the Highway 29 Community Partnership:
The purpose of our meetings is to share information and encourage
participation to promote our region.
The group started based on the unknown
effect on housing with the opening of the prison in Stanley.
We now have
citizens from Cadott, Boyd, Stanley, Thorp, Withee, Owen, and Curtiss meeting
monthly to find ways to promote the region.
Our current project is
to promote the Yellowstone Trail which will bring more people to our
communities and help our businesses.
John and Alice Ridge from the
Yellowstone Trail Association helped us identify the trail from Cadott to
Curtiss and shared their expertise of the history of the trail.
SUCCESSES of Highway 29 Community Partnership:
>>> Communicating and working together for the past five years.
>>> A Resource team sponsored by Wisconsin Rural Partners. This team of 6
professionals spent a week in the five original communities
interviewing
various groups and organizations. The result was a written report which
identified the strengths and weaknesses of each community.
This report
provided a tool for planning future development. A copy of this report can be
found on the website at
http://www.wirural.org/.

We are a non-profit organization established with the mission
of constructing and maintaining an Agribusiness Innovation Center in Central
Wisconsin.
CWAIC, Inc. was formed by a diverse group of citizens from Clark County who
are united in their passion to make this Innovation Center a reality.

The Agribusiness Innovation Center will be a multi-purpose facility designed
to foster education, training, research and development in the areas of
agribusiness and biotechnology. The building will incorporate large- and
small-group learning environments, public meeting and presentation space, and
business incubator space for agricultural entrepreneurs. Our vision is that
the building itself will be a learning tool, using sustainable development
concepts in the design of the building and surrounding site.
The Innovation Center is a key component in a larger agribusiness complex
ideally located in northern Clark County, the heart of Wisconsin.
Its location along four-lane Highway 29 provides easy access to larger
metropolitan areas in the state, while still preserving our rural character.
Clark County is already one of the leading agricultural counties in the state.
We are home to plentiful dairy farms, award-winning butter producers, master
and artisan cheese makers, cash-cropping
and ag support businesses, greenhouses, tree farms and nurseries, and a major
wholesale produce auction facility.
In addition, Central Wisconsin is developing a strong reputation in the bio
energy field. Numerous alternative energy entities are located in the region.
