Stanley 2012 Events Calendar 

                                       Stanley Area Historical Society Museum

Is open Saturdays and Sundays 1-4 p.m. June, July and August. In September Sundays only 1-4 p.m.
The museum features four distinct buildings with over 12,000 sq. feet and is full of interesting items and educational exhibits including a 1906 Cadillac and an unusual 650-beer tap collection. 
The buildings are all accessible for the handicapped with an elevator/lift, ramps and a wheelchair is available for use. Over the past year Red Hat Ladies from Thorp, Augusta, Cadott and Loyal have had enjoyable visits. Small groups and bus tours can both be accommodated.

June 8 and 9 -- American Cancer Society Relay for Life held at Chapman Park, Stanley.  Starts Friday, June 8 at 6 p.m. and goes until Saturday, June 9 at 8 a.m.  Contact Person: Melinda Gadke 715-644-0805.

June 9 -- 4x4 Truck Pull and Super Farm Tractor Pull at Chapman Park, Stanley.  Weigh in at 5 p.m. with the pull starting at 6 p.m.  Contact Person: Jack Leja 715-456-4518.

June 10 -- Joint Stanley-Boyd and Thorp Farmers Share Dairy Breakfast, 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the

July 15 -- 31st Annual Otter Lake Charcoal Chicken Dinner held at the Otter Lake day use park with serving from 11 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or when they run out.   Refreshments, raffles and music throughout the day. Contact Person: Gary Fritz 715-644-4979.

July 28 and 29 -- Sew and Sew Quilt Show held at Timber’s Restaurant Banquet Hall, 613 S. Broadway, Stanley 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Contact Person: Donna Haas 715-644-5563.

July 29 -- 38th Annual Stanley Lions Watermelon Festival held at Chapman Park.  Flea Market starts at 8 a.m. Charcoal Chicken serving starts at 10:30 a.m. Car Show 10 a.m. Children’s Games 3 p.m. Free watermelon starting at 11 a.m. Raffle on grounds. August

August 10 and 11 – Stanley’s City Wide Thrift Sales.  Lunch sales available August 10 only at Soo Park beginning at 10:30 a.m. Stanley businesses will also be running specials, with some offering sidewalk sales.

August 11 – 4th Annual Art in the Park and Taste of Stanley at Soo Park downtown Stanley. Local artist and photographers will have their artwork and photography on display and for sale.

September 15-29 – Stanley Public Library, 154 E. 4th Avenue, Fall Book Sale.

September 19 – Harvest Dinner 4-8 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 147 E. 4th Avenue, Stanley.  Meatballs and all the trimmings, pie for dessert.

October 28 -- Annual Stanley-Boyd FFA Alumni Farm Toy and Craft Show, held at Stanley-Boyd High School, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Contact Person: Jeff Boie 715-669-3423.

November 11 – Holy Family PCCW Annual Bazaar at Holy Family Hall, 136 E. Third Avenue, Stanley.  Doors open at 10 a.m. Chicken and Polish sausage dinner served beginning at 10:30 a.m.   Bakery, silent auction, kids games, and raffles.

December

December 1 – Stanley Public Library, 154 E. 4th Avenue, Holiday Festival.  Visit with Santa, refreshments, face painting, entertainment, and take home craft project for children.  Raffle.  Contact Persons: Library Staff at 715-644-2004.

December 8 – “Annual Cookie Walk” 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Stanley United Methodist Church, 239 S. Broadway Street, Stanley.  Contact Person: Bonnie Caswell 715-644-5934.
