Welcome to Historic Cadott

    Known as "Half Way Between the Equator and the North Pole," Cadott is in the heart of Wisconsin's Vacation Crossroads. Located at the junctions of State Highways 27 and 29, Cadott is a growing community with a progressive spirit. Cadott is the "Home of the Chippewa Valley Music Festivals" -- Country Fest which will be held this year Thursday-Sunday, June 21-24 and Rock Fest which will be held Thursday-Saturday, July 19-21.

    Cadott is named after Jean Baptiste Cadotte, the son of a fur trader whose family came from the Lake Superior, Madeline Island area in the 1830's and established a fur trading post near the falls of an east-west waterway bisecting huge stands of virgin timber. 

    The first permanent settler was Robert Marriner who built a log cabin and sawmill in 1865, beginning the lumbering and mill industries which served as the foundation of Cadott's first growth.  By February 2, 1895 when the village was incorporated, there were 853 residents.  Today the population is 1,625.

    The Village of Cadott is located at the west end of the Partner29 corridor and is along the Yellowstone Trail.  We are proud to be a part of this effort to promote the strengths of the region and invite you to consider Cadott your place to relocate.
